A free German course, from your first word to C2
A German course for English speakers from A0 to C2, in standard German as spoken in Germany. The 140 lessons take the cases one step at a time, from the accusative in A1 to adjective endings in A2 and the Konjunktiv I at B2, and every noun among the 5,616 flashcards comes with its article and plural. Austrian and Swiss usage is explained and accepted. Free, with no account needed for lessons. AI chat includes three guest prompts before a free account is required.

With AI, where it helps
AI is built in where it makes learning faster: a conversation partner that speaks at your level, explanations of your mistakes, stories on topics you choose, and, on request, an AI review of your results. The course itself is written and structured, so AI adds practice rather than replacing teaching. How SparkAI uses AI.

Questions
Is there a free German course from A0 to C2?
Yes. SparkAI's German course runs from complete beginner (A0) to mastery (C2), free with no ads: 140 grammar lessons, 5,616 flashcards with spaced repetition, graded stories, audio and an AI conversation partner.
Which German does it teach?
Standard German (Hochdeutsch) as spoken in Germany, with the current official spelling. Austrian and Swiss German are explained where they differ, and answers in either count as right: Jänner, Grüezi or Swiss ss for ß are never marked wrong.
Do I need an account?
Not to start. Choose German and begin straight away; your progress stays in this browser. A free account saves it and syncs it across devices, and AI chat needs one after three guest prompts.
Does it give a certificate?
SparkAI has its own level tests to check your progress, but no official certificate. For an official one, sit a recognised German exam such as the Goethe-Zertifikat, telc or TestDaF.
Can I learn other languages too?
Yes. Pick the language in a dropdown on the first screen or in Settings: French, Spanish, German or Mandarin Chinese. Each language keeps its own course, level, flashcards and progress.
