2,847 free Chinese flashcards that come back at the right time
Each card shows the characters, the pinyin with tone marks, the measure word for nouns, and an example sentence you can hear. The most useful words come first, from about HSK 1 to HSK 6.
Answering in characters or pinyin
- Cards go from Chinese to English and from English back to Chinese.
- Type your answer in characters or in pinyin. No pinyin keyboard? Write ni3 hao3 and the app reads it as nǐ hǎo.
- A different tone is a different word: mǎi (buy) and mài (sell) are not the same answer.
- Some cards blank the word out of its example sentence, so you recall it in context.
When cards come back
Rate each card Again, Hard, Good or Easy and FSRS sets the next review. New words are limited per day, so the reviews don't pile up. The cards come in lists of 100, levelled from A0 to C1.

Questions
Are there free Chinese flashcards with spaced repetition?
Yes. SparkAI has 2,847 free Mandarin cards. FSRS, a spaced-repetition algorithm, decides when each one comes back, based on how well you remembered it last time.
Do the cards have pinyin?
Yes. Every card has the word in Simplified characters with its pinyin, the English, and an example sentence in characters and pinyin. Nouns name their usual measure word.
Which Chinese words should I learn first?
The most useful ones, which is how the cards are ordered: pronouns, greetings, numbers and everyday verbs first, then about HSK 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Can I make my own Chinese flashcards?
Yes. Add words to your own decks, or save them straight from what you read.
