Questions
How does the French level test work?
It starts with beginner (A0) questions. Get at least 4 of 5 right and you move up a level; the first level where you don't is where you stop. Your result is the last level you passed, from A0 to C2.
Is it an official CEFR test?
No. It's a free, quick estimate of your grammar level based on the CEFR scale (A1 to C2). Official certificates such as the DELF and DALF also test listening, speaking and writing.
How long does it take?
About 10 minutes for most people, with at most 35 questions. Beginners finish sooner.
Do I need to sign up?
No. The test and your result are free and need no account or email.
What should I do after the test?
Start learning at your level: SparkAI's free course begins at the level you tested at and marks the earlier lessons as done.
