Most French adjectives go after the noun. But a short list of very common ones normally go before it. Remember BAGS:
BAGS

Also before the noun: premier, dernier (first, last), autre (other), même (same), seul (only).
Des becomes de
When a plural adjective comes before the noun, des changes to de:

- des amis → de bons amis
In casual speech many people keep des, but de is correct in writing.
Liaison
BAGS adjectives link to a following vowel: un petit‿ami (t), un grand‿homme (t), un gros‿avion (z).
Meaning can change
Some adjectives change meaning with position: un grand homme (a great man) vs un homme grand (a tall man). See Adjective position.
