Zéro to vingt
Numbers 0–20 are the base of all the other numbers, so it's worth getting them perfect, including pronunciation.

Un vs une
One agrees with the noun: un livre, une pomme.
Pronunciation traps
- sept: the p is silent: set.
- vingt: the g and t are silent: van (nasal).
- six, dix: final x is silent before a consonant (six livres: si), like an s at the end (j'en ai six: sis), like a z before a vowel (six‿amis: siz).
- huit: the t is silent before a consonant (huit jours: ui).
- cinq: the q is usually pronounced (sank), but often dropped before a consonant in speech.
- neuf before ans and heures becomes neuv: neuf‿ans = neuv-an.
