French numbers, time and dates
From counting to twenty to soixante-dix and quatre-vingt-dix, telling the time and saying dates.
The essentials
- 70 is soixante-dix (60 + 10), 80 quatre-vingts (4 × 20), 90 quatre-vingt-dix.
- Dates use le + number: le 14 juillet, but le premier mai.
- The 24-hour clock is common: il est quinze heures.
