Days and months are masculine and written without a capital letter.

Dates: le + number + month

Use the cardinal number (deux, trois…), except for the 1st: le premier.

Days: lundi vs le lundi

  • lundi = on (this coming / last) Monday, once
  • le lundi = on Mondays, every Monday

Writing dates

French dates go day / month / year: 03/04/2025 is the 3rd of April.
